Usage Services

ICS provides usage service to save usage details of all ICS services at one place. Using the Usage page, you can view and download these usage reports of different ICS services. 
The Usage page comprises the following two tabs to show the usage details:
  1. Dashboard
  2. Usage Details
The Dashboard tab shows the results in graph format, whereas the Usage Details tab presents information in tabular format. However, the information displayed in the above two tabs is based on the specified filters. To know how to apply filters to search usage results of various ICS services, refer Applying Filters.
Additionally, the total usage summary of each ICS service of the current month is displayed at the top right corner of the Usage page.
However, Enterprise users gets an additional option to set usage limit for ICS services to receive email alerts. To know how to set usage limits, refer Setting Up Usage Limits.

Viewing Dashboard

The Dashboard page provides an organized graphical representation of ICS service usage. This view helps you analyze the usage duration in the form of a Bar Chart or Line Chart graph.
By default, the Dashboard page shows the daily usage report for the current month in a Bar chart graph. However, you can change the default criteria to get filtered reports and view weekly or monthly reports, if required.
The Dashboard page displays information in two panes:
  1. Left Pane: Displays the list of consumption duration of each ICS service in hours. By default, the list displays the daily usage report for the current month.
  2. Right Pane: Provides usage report in graph format. In the graph report, the x-axis represents the specified dates, whereas the y-axis displays the total usage. Additionally, hovering the mouse over the graphs displays the particular report on the tooltip.

Steps to view dashboard:
  1. From the top right corner, click the User menu drop-down .
  2. Select Usage.
    The Dashboard page opens by default.
  3. From the left pane, expand the arrow to set the required filter criteria.
  4. Click Search to get the filtered usage report in graph format.

Viewing Usage Details

The Usage Details page provides detailed information on each ICS service used in tabular format. This page is displayed on clicking the Usage Details tab next to the Dashboard tab.
The usage details include the following information:
Fields
Description
Task ID
Displays the scheduled task ID
 Service
 Displays the name of the ICS service
 File
 Displays the file name
 Billed Duration
 Displays the duration for which the billing was done
 Completed At
 Displays the time at which the scheduled task was processed
  **If Usage Type is Storage

 Timestamp
 Displays the time at which the entry was created in usage service
 Storage Usage (in GB)
 Displays the amount of S3 storage used for daily tasks in GB 
** Currently, the details about storage usage are available only for ICS — CAPTIONS services. Enterprise users will be charged $30 for each 1 TB additional usage per month if the storage usage amount exceeds the current subscription plan.

Steps to view usage details:
  1. From the top right corner, click the User menu drop-down  .
  2. Select Usage.
    The Dashboard page opens by default.
  3. Click the Usage Details tab.
    The Usage Details page appears displaying the details of all available ICS services.
  4. From the left pane, expand the arrow to set the required filter criteria.
  5. Click Search to get the filtered usage details in tabular format.
The fields displayed in the report can be sorted in ascending or descending order.

Applying Filters

ICS lets you select different criteria to filter the search results of the services used. Based on the values selected, usage information will be fetched and shown on the Dashboard or Usage Details page. Currently, the filter criteria include the following parameters:
Parameters
Description
 ServiceSelect the desired ICS service.
The available options are: All, Baton, and Captions
 Usage Type  Select the usage type of ICS service.
The available options are: Task Info and Storage Usage Info
 Start Date Select the start date from which you want the report to be generated
 End Date Select the end date till when you want to generate the report
  Task Type
   Select the required type of tasks.
   The available options are: All, QC, Captioning, Subtitling, and Recaptioning
The Task Type parameter is available as a filter criteria only if the Captions service is selected from the Service drop-down.

Steps to apply filters:
  1. From the top right corner, click the User menu drop-down .
  2. Select Usage.
    The Dashboard page opens by default.
  3. From the left pane, expand the arrow.
    The Filters pane opens with the default values.
  4. Enter the desired values for the filters.
  5. Click Reset if you want to reset to the default filter criteria.
  6. Click Search to view the usage report, as per the specified criteria.
  7. Click Download to save the filtered usage report in CSV file format.

Setting Up Usage Limit

ICS lets you set usage limits for the ICS services to receive e-mail alerts when a specific amount of service is used. For this, you need to click the Set Usage Limit button from the top right corner of the Usage page and set the following values:
  1. Frequency for e-mail alerts for an ICS service:
    1. Daily
    2. Weekly
    3. Monthly 
  2. Parameters, based on which e-mail alerts will be sent
    For example, to get e-mail alerts for Captions service usage, you can define the bill duration and/or content storage amount.
E-mail alerts will only be sent when 50%, 90%, and 100% of a service is used.
